God has given us the unavoidable principle of families remaining together. Fathers, in particular, are charged with training their children with a knowledge of the Lord. When we read about the body of Christ coming together we see everyone together. The young learn from the old. The old gain as well from modeling for the young. The old can also learn from the young.
Churches did not segregate by age until the last 150 or so years. It is a modern idea that has no basis in anything effective. Quite frankly, it needs to go away.
Children need to be with their parents. They also need to be with the entire body. This is unavoidable.

I'm glad you liked this post. Age segregation is another one of those traditions that is so ingrained that many Christians never question it. How sad that is! Kids need their parents. To separate them seems crazy to me now.
I allowed my daughter (Only child) to be separated by Sunday School class and youth group activities since she was a toddler.
We gave up corporate church two years ago, but even now at age 16, my daughter filters almost everything spiritual and biblical that I teach during our daily family lessons through her indoctrinated views on "Church" doctrines and traditions. She has also, at times, judged my words and actions against those of our former pastor.
This situation is very hard to deal with and also one which I believe many parents don't have a clue about.
Regardless if they/we know it or not, separating children from parents for spiritual/biblical training and teaching is like playing with fire - and usually has bad consequences.
It's the same indoctrination kids get in public schools when they are given over for 5-6+ hours a day for 180 days a year, and it delivers similar results - often pitting kids against their parents on many important issues.
You can take the child out of corporate church, but can you successfully take corporate out of the child?
