Two Part Time Jobs

Today I begin working a second part time job.  It is an office-type position that involves a lot of organizational and people skills, but not a great deal of responsibility.

This means that I'll now be working this job from 1-7 PM, and then the cleaning job from about 8:30-midnight.  My family time will now happen in the mornings and on weekends.

Since time is at much more of a premium, my blogging frequency is about to drop.  I used to post almost every day, but for the foreseeable future it will be more like three times per week.  This should make my blogging more selective which I hope will improve the quality of the posts.

I'd really appreciate your continued prayers about all this.  My desire is to work during the day so that I'd have family time in the evenings.  That would also allow us to gather with friends and reach out to neighbors after most people get off work.

Thanks.

Eric,

I praise God for this new opportunity to work and support your family! I know that you'd prefer to work during the day, but keep your eyes open for opportunities to serve people that you work with, and opportunities to serve people during the day. I've found that God gives us opportunities anytime we look for them.

Thanks Alan. I'm looking forward to it. God is sovereign and I therefore know He has a plan in all this. The opportunities should be there. I hope I see them.

Eric,

Well! We've prayed. God answered! All praise to Him! He knows our needs, which are not always our desires. There's an opportunity for a ministry that He has planned.

I'm grateful that God continues to provide for your material needs, and I will pray that He will, in His time, provide you with the work schedule that will tend toward His glory and the good of your family and you.

Eric,

Thanks for sharing what is going on in your life. I may be facing a similar situation in the near future, and reading about how you are facing it gives me a lot of courage.

Thanks for the encouragement!

As you enter this sacred work, I asked God to remind you to call on Him as your boss for wisdom and energy to do this work with excellence that exceeds the understanding of men, knowing that you will give God the credit when men observe your service.
Col. 3 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

Eric,

I am happy for you, as the Lord continues to show His faithfulness. It is apparent that you have touched many lives, and have many saints interceding on your behalf! In my own life I am currently doing extra work to help pay bills, and never really wanted to start that line of work in the first place, but God had other plans. I have done this other work now for over 3 years, although I have been able to cut back significantly lately. I have learned a lot, and He has done much in me in this time. I know that He is ordering your steps, and I will continue to pray for His grace as he leads you further in Him. I know that our Father will honor your faithfulness to His calling.

God bless,

Mark
