Important Today and Everyday

Today millions of Christians around the world will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Tomorrow many of those millions will largely live as if the resurrection didn't happen.

Christ's resurrection is one of the most important events in the history of the universe. As Jesus' followers, we have this astounding truth to cherish. The resurrection is important today, but it is just as important tomorrow and the next day and the next day, etc. Let's live like it every day!

Shorts

I haven't had time to blog at all lately. My work schedule continues to be a bear. While I'm thankful for my job, it is a struggle to work 65 hours every week; I don't even know if I'm going to have any time off this coming weekend.

Despite my job, I still desire to write. Therefore, I've decided to change the format of this blog. Specifically, my posts from now on will be quite a bit shorter than they've been in the past. Some might only be a few sentences long. They may amount to little more than some things I've been thinking about. There just isn't time to write at length. Short will be the key.

That said, here's my first short post: we've made this whole church thing way too complicated. Both in our belief statements and our expectations of others, we've focused far too much on the details. It may sound simplistic and over-used, but there is much to be said for simply loving God and loving other people. Love of God is surrendering ourselves completely to his will. Loving others is serving them sacrificially. Let's focus on that for a while and see what happens.
