The answer is that I do not like much about Jehovah's Witnesses. They are, quite simply, a cult.
However, I love the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are integrated. If you see them in your neighborhood, they very frequently have people of various ethnic backgrounds in their little groups.
Why is it that people who don't have the truth (JWs) can be integrated while those who do have the truth (followers of Christ) are routinely part of churches that are basically segregated? This should not be.
If anywhere on this earth should be integrated, it is God's church. God's love for both Jew and Gentile should show us all that race should never be a barrier.
Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."

There are a lot of ways that cults put God's people to shame. Mormons get the vast majority of 19 year old young men to commit to an austere, self-supported two year mission. We are lucky if we can get kids to show up for youth group.
Integrated???!!!??? How about just stop throwing other Christians under the bus? Stop fighting over doctrinal tiddles. We have a long way to go before integrating. But I would be the first in line if their was a movement to integrate.
Arthur,
I agree completely.
Dusty Chris,
May Sunday morning stop being the most segregated time of the week. I sure hope so.
Muslims are devout prayers and revere their scriptures (the Koran) with such zeal that surpasses many Christians in terms of time spent praying and studying the Bible.
Micha,
Sad, but true.
Eric,
I've always admired the zeal for evangelism the Jehovah's Witnesses have. They are well trained and organized. They also spend more time reading their Bibles. The are, as you mentioned, also more integrated. So they practice and we...
Jeff,
Ouch. The truth hurts.
I believe it is an unfortunate mirror of our society in general. I can only imagine how it displeases the Lord. However, I will say I have found JW's to be just as segregated, but that's just from who I've seen come to our door over the years... so I could be wrong.:-) Thanks for the insight.
In Christ, Talya
Interesting question. I've responded here.
David,
Thanks for the link. I read your response. It is difficult to know what all the motivations are for segregation and integration. In the end, it is sad that a cult would be more integrated than most churches.
Heaven will be a wonderful place for many reasons (primarily, of course, because God is there). One of those is that all races will be together in perfect harmony. How wonderful!
