I think their choices of examples for things government promotes and prohibits are unfortunate. Drug use mainly harms the individuals that partake in drugs, not society as a whole - and certainly not as much as drug prohibition has harmed society. They should have stuck with a universal crime like murder or theft. Personally, I would have used charity and education as activities governments support.
I think the government should not be in the marriage business to begin with. Marriage is mainly a social or religious rite. If they want to promote something, by the logic of this video they should promote fathers living with their biological or adopted children. This is sort of the inverse of child support laws.
