Two themes running through all of these are important in forming my ecclesiology: essential unity of the church and connection to Christ.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987271399653590272.post-59482676935234672892009-09-10T12:04:13.737-04:002009-09-10T12:04:13.737-04:00Laura,

The metaphors used in the NT, especially in Paul's letters, are critical for a proper understanding of church. There is a theological depth to the metaphors that is not easily derived from the historical descriptions in the book of Acts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987271399653590272.post-77432508442155707972009-09-09T20:50:11.847-04:002009-09-09T20:50:11.847-04:00John,

I couldn't agree more, especially Acts 2:42.

What we can't seem to grasp is that a lot of church history, between Acts 2:42 and the present is indeed "new", and not in accord with that verse.Aussie Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16199918171163666399noreply@blogger.com
